In 2015, when all respondents were asked about attitudes to and knowledge of electric vehicles:
- 5% said that they were thinking about buying an electric car or van
- 56% said that they had not thought about buying one
- 16% said that they had thought about buying one and decided not to at this stage
When driving licence holders were asked about the most important factors that they considered when buying a car or van (more than one answer allowed):
- 80% said cost
- 72% said reliability
- 60% said safety
- 49% said comfort
