Statistics on the number of trips made by road goods vehicles travelling from Great Britain to Europe in 2021.

In the 12-month period ending 31 December 2021, 3.0 million trips were made by road goods vehicles travelling from Great Britain to Europe, of which:

  • 2.0 million were by powered vehicles
  • 1.1 million were by unaccompanied trailers

Note: The sum of powered vehicles and unaccompanied trailers may not equal the total number of road goods vehicles due to rounding.

These statistics cover a period where there were still some measures in place to limit the impact and transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as well as the end of the EU transition period. These figures should be considered within this context and therefore caution should be taken when interpreting these data and comparing them with previous time periods.
