About

The Taking Part survey has run since 2005 and is the key evidence source for DCMS. It is a continuous face to face household survey of adults aged 16 and over in England and children aged 5 to 15 years old. This latest release presents child data from April 2014 to March 2015.

Next release date

Future adult releases of Taking Part will be published every six months. The next biannual release is therefore scheduled for December 2015 and will present the quarter 2 estimates for year 11 (October 2014 – September 2015) for adults.

Previous release

The previous Taking Part release was published on 25 June 2015. It also provides spreadsheets containing the data and sample sizes for each sector included in the survey.

Pre-release access

The document above contains a list of ministers and officials who have received privileged early access to this release of Taking Part data. In line with best practice, the list has been kept to a minimum and those given access for briefing purposes had a maximum of 24 hours.
