Consolidated European Reporting System Advice Notes
Find out about MCA CERSANs and their role in enabling CERS users to provide accurate vessel traffic monitoring information on vessels arriving at UK ports.
Overview
This guidance tells you about Consolidated European Reporting System Advice Notes (CERSANS). These have been introduced by the MCA to assist CERS users with providing accurate and timely information to CERS on vessels arriving at UK ports.
When will a CERSAN be published?
A CERSAN will be published when there is a need to:
- Provide detailed guidance on producing information for CERS (i.e. generating CSV files).
- Advise of forthcoming procedural or system changes (i.e. new versions of the CERS Workbook).
- Update users on system functionality (i.e. known system issues).
- Remind users of their reporting obligations when appropriate.
CERSANs will be targeted at Port authorities, Shipping Agents, Masters calling at UK ports and when appropriate all users.
