These school-led programmes help teachers from under-represented groups progress into leadership.

What you can get

Programmes will vary between providers but should offer you tailored leadership development activities based on an audit of local needs.

Programmes are designed and delivered by schools that have received funding from one of the regional hub lead schools.

Who can join the programme

You should be a teacher at any stage of your career who wants to develop as a leader, works for a state funded school in England and are covered by at least one of the protected characteristics defined in the Equality Act 2010.

The protected characteristics are:

  • age
  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • marriage and civil partnership
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation

When it’s available

Programmes will be delivered between September 2018 and July 2020. Individual programme start dates will vary between providers.

What it costs

Costs will vary between providers. Many programmes are free but as they’re tailored to local needs, some schools may charge a fee.
