Reducing Parental Conflict programme: evaluation
Evaluations on the impact of the Reducing Parental Conflict programme.
Applies to England
Independent programme evaluation
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) commissioned IFF Research and the Tavistock Institute of Human Resources to conduct an independent evaluation of the Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC) programme between 2018 to 2022.
Interventions tested in Contract Package Areas (CPAs)
The evaluation provided evidence on the implementation and delivery of 8 different interventions. This information was used to help make informed, evidence-based decisions on which sorts of interventions should be commissioned in the future.
Practitioner training
The evaluation examined whether the various types of practitioner training and support have changed practice on the ground in terms of:
- identification
- support provided
- the extent to which practitioners feel skilled to deliver support and interventions to reduce parental conflict
It also evaluated the perceived impact the training had on practitioners’ and professionals’ confidence and ability to provide support for parents in conflict.
Local integration
The evaluation examined whether and how local authorities have integrated elements of parental conflict support into mainstream service for families.
