If a customer dies, their student loan can be cancelled.
You can call or write to the Student Loans Company (SLC) to tell them about someone who has died.
Evidence you’ll need to send
You’ll need to tell SLC the Customer Reference Number of the person who has died and send one of the following:
- original death certificate
- original coroner’s interim certificate
- copy of coroner’s certificate stamped by the coroner
