UK innovation diffusion and adoption survey

The Department of Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is conducting a survey of UK businesses. Help us understand how we can support innovation in businesses and shape future policies.

DSIT, in collaboration with PA Consulting, is conducting a survey of businesses to better understanding the nature of how UK businesses adopt and distribute ‘innovative new technologies or processes’.

If you are using ‘innovative new technologies or processes’ your business is exploring, adopting and/or sharing new ways of working or operating. You use technology, processes and products and/or services to improve your organisation’s offering, efficiency, productivity, environmental sustainability or profit margin.

The survey seeks to measure levels of technology diffusion and adoption across the UK (covering AI, quantum, and more). It aims to understand what barriers businesses face when selling and/or using different technologies.

The results of the survey will help to:

  • further support innovation in UK businesses
  • improve spending decisions
  • shape future policies in this area

See our privacy notice to understand how we will use your data.

The survey

The survey takes 15 minutes to complete and we will ask about your business, innovations you’ve adopted and how. We’ll also ask about any barriers you may have encountered.
