CAPI15000 - Regulatory control procedures on the importation of residues from the manufacture of starch from maize from the United States of America
Under Commission Regulation 1375/2007, residues from the manufacture of starch from maize (2309 9020), sometimes known as corn gluten, imported into the EU from the USA, are subject to examination and sampling by laboratory analysis if not accompanied by a certificate issued by the Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) and a certificate issued by the USA wet milling industry.
If either or both of the certificates are not presented, check with the importer that they definitely do not have them before sending a request for examination and sampling.
A CHIEF profile is set, and imports under this procedure must be notified to:

with copies of the:
- import declaration
- both accompanying certificates, and
- RPA import licence.
Member States are required to notify the Commission of all consignments from the USA accompanied by these certificates, on a monthly basis.
