Give me the following details from the Start Notice and I will check out the position

  • Employee’s Name
  • National Insurance Number
  • Works / Payroll no., Branch etc
  • Start date

You can file the Start Notice away and I will only get back to you if I require more information.

HMRC action

  • Review the NPS, PAYE Service record to establish whether it was set up correctly in the first place. If the case has been set up in error you should follow existing procedures for deleting the record

Note: The employer should never be told to phone the Student Loans Company. They will deal only with the borrower.
