CTM22170 - ACT collection: franked payments or FID paid not returned
ICTA88/SCH13/PARA3 (3)
Where:
- you think the company has made a franked payment or paid an FID which it has not included on a return,
or
- you are dissatisfied with any return,
you can make an assessment on the company to the best of your judgement. For the purpose of interest on unpaid tax, the ACT due on any such assessment is treated as due when it would have been payable if a correct return had been made. So:
- if the franked payment is a money payment, or where an FID is paid, the due date is 14 days after the end of the return period in which the payment was made (or where the payment was not made in an accounting period, 14 days after the payment was made),
- in any other case, the due date is 14 days after the issue of the notice of assessment (subject to any appeal).
