In order to avoid potentially embarrassing conflicting actions and messages you, or the designated Workflow Team, must check IT systems (NPPS, EF, SA, COTAX, Caseflow and so on) for any Managing Serious Defaulters (MSD) interest before starting any compliance activity.

In particular, where Local Compliance have self sourced cases for compliance activity, it is vital that you check for any MSD interest before you register the case with your workflow manager. MSD may hold information relevant to your compliance activity, or it may need you to take certain actions.

Where MSD does have an interest please contact the Serious Defaulters Management Unit (SDMU) through the technical queries mailbox, to discuss before registration and before any contact with the person.
