Purpose of the list
There are two versions of the Companies not known to COTAX work list.
- Function CNKC is the update version.
- Function CNKV is the view only version.
How often should the list be reviewed?
Local management should ensure that the work list is reviewed weekly to pick up new cases added to the list.
Who does what?
A Clerical Caseworker normally reviews and controls the list, referring cases to a Technical Caseworker for action where necessary.
When are new entries added?
COTAX adds new entries to this work list daily.
Reasons for entry
COTAX enters a case on the Companies not known to COTAX work list where an update received from Companies House to a company’s designatory details has been unable to make a link through the CRN (Companies Registration Number) to a COTAX record.
Sorting and filtering options
Before you start to work cases, you may want to sort and filter the work list. You can do that by using any of the following criteria.
- Name.
- B/F date.
- B/F note.
- Company Registration Number.
- Entry date.
The normal next action function
The normal next action function for the Companies not known to COTAX List is TRCT (Trace Taxpayer).
Automatic deletion
Cases are not automatically deleted from the work list.
Manual deletion
You can delete cases manually from the list.
