Security measures are built into the design of the system to ensure access is only available to authorised personnel and they can only perform the transactions permitted by their management.
Restriction to CHIEF is by Badge and Password.
Badge
Each individual is issued with a Badge that is specific to them. This Badge is keyed in the first screen when accessing CHIEF.
Password
Each individual is issued with a password that must be changed when first signing onto CHIEF, then at regular intervals prompted by the system.
Individuals are restricted in their use on CHIEF to certain computers. Attempted use of an unauthorised unit will result in an error response - Access refused.
Care of Badges and Passwords
The Password or the Badge should not be disclosed to anyone. Once the password has been changed it should be known only to the owner.
