IHTM02171 - Communications: Taxpayers with disabilities/special needs: introduction
HMRC is committed to providing a service to all taxpayers including those with disabilities. The Disability Discrimination Act also requires organisations to enable all customers to have access to information. HMRC is publicising the special services available for people with disabilities.
You will not know whether a correspondent needs a special service until they ask for it. If someone does ask for a special service (for example, because they are visually impaired), you must do what you can to provide it.
This section deals with services available in this Office for taxpayers with impairments to hearing or vision.
If someone asks for a special service or if you need any advice, please contact the Products and Process Team (PPT) in Ferrers House.
