Changes to previous version - new guidance
Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu’
- select ‘Application’ on the toolbar
- select
- ‘Change of Circumstance’ from the options available if you are dealing with an un-finalised claim. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen
or - ‘Correction’ from the options available if you are dealing with a finalised claim. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen
- ‘Change of Circumstance’ from the options available if you are dealing with an un-finalised claim. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen
- enter the customer’s NINO
- select the ‘All’ checkbox
- select ‘OK’.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Application’ screen
- select the relevant claim
- select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
- go to Step 2.
If you are taken straight to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen, go to Step 2.
Step 2
On the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
- select ‘Ch’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Child Details’ screen
- select the new child or young person
- select the ‘New’ button. You will be taken to the ‘New Child Details’ screen
- enter the following details in the relevant fields for the new child or young person
- surname
- first names
- date of birth
- start date of the customer’s responsibility for the child
- start date of any childcare
- start date of full-time education
- start date for Connexions / Local Authority Support Service
- start date of the child’s disability, if applicable
- start date of any Disability Living Allowance (Higher Care component only) / Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Note: the Exception fields must only be completed by the Exception Team
- select ‘OK’.
If the message ‘1 month restriction applied to include from date. Check if correct’ displays, go to Step 3.
If the message ‘1 month restriction applied to include from date. Check if correct’ does not display
- you will be taken to the ‘Amend Finish’ screen
- do not complete the ‘Amend Finish’ screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.
Step 3
If the date responsibility for the child or young person starts from is the same as their date of birth
- select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Amend Finish’ screen
- do not complete the ‘Amend Finish’ screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.
If the date responsibility for the child or young person starts from is not the same as their date of birth
- select ‘Cancel’. You will be taken back to the ‘Child Details’ screen
- go to Step 4.
Step 4
On the ‘Child Details’ screen
- select the new child or young person
- select ‘Correction’. You will be taken to the ‘Correction Child’ screen
- select ‘History’. You will be taken to the ‘History’ screen
- select the new child or young person
- select ‘Change’
- select the period you want to change
- enter the responsibility start date in the ‘Include From’ field
- select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Amend Finish’ screen
- do not complete the ‘Amend Finish’ screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.
