TCM1000308 - How to amend the effective date of a pre-award claim
Step 1
If you are not dealing with a work list item, go to Step 2.
If you are dealing with a Verification Failures work list item, go to Step 3.
If you are dealing with an Incomplete Applications work list item, go to Step 4.
Step 2
Note: When amending the effective date of a claim, the received date must always be at least one day after the effective date, and you can never backdate more than 31days.
On the ‘Function Menu’
- select ‘Application’ on the toolbar
- select ‘Capture Current’ from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen
- enter the customer’s NINO
- select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant 1’ screen
- select ‘Sm’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Summary Information’ screen’
- enter the new effective date in the ‘Application Effective Date’ field
- select ‘OK’. You have amended the effective date of the pre-award claim.
Step 3
On the ‘Maintain Worklist’ screen
- select the work list item you are working
- select ‘File’ on the toolbar
- select ‘Next Function’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Select Next Function’ screen
- select ‘Manage Ver Failures’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Manage Verification Failures’ screen
- select ‘Navigate’ on the toolbar
- select ‘Amend Applications Corrections’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant 1’ screen
- select ‘Sm’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Summary Information’ screen
- enter the new effective date in the ‘Application Effective Date’ field
- select ‘OK’. You have amended the effective date of the pre-award claim.
Step 4
On the ‘Maintain Worklist’ screen
- select the work list item you are working
- select ‘File’ on the toolbar
- select ‘Next Function’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Select Next Function’ screen
- select ‘Capture Application’. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant 1’ screen
- select ‘Sm’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Summary Information’ screen
- enter the new effective date in the ‘Application Effective Date’ field
- select ‘OK’. The ‘Process Application’ screen will display with the message ‘The information captured is incomplete. This application will be rejected’
- select ‘Store’, unless you are told otherwise in the guidance you are following. You have amended the effective date of the pre-award claim.
