TCM1000468 - How to check if the claim for WTC has been automatically backdated
Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu’
- select ‘Award’ on the toolbar
- select ‘View’ from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data’ screen
- enter the customer’s NINO
- select ‘OK’.
If you’re taken to the ‘Select Individual’ screen
- select the relevant individual
- select ‘OK’. You’ll be taken to the ‘Award Summary’ screen
- go to Step 2.
If you’re taken to the ‘Select award’ screen
- select the earliest version of the tax year you’re considering backdating for, to highlight it
- select ‘OK’. You’ll be taken to the ‘Award Summary’ screen
- go to Step 2.
If you’re taken straight to the ‘Award Summary’ screen, go to Step 2.
Step 2
On the ‘Award Summary’ screen
- select ‘Navigation’ on the toolbar menu
- select ‘View Application’ from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Application Summary’ screen
- note the date in the ‘Date Received’ field
- select ‘Continue’ until you reach the Applicant 1 Work screen and note the employment start date (or start dates)
- select ‘Continue’ until you reach the Applicant 2 Work screen and note the employment start date (or start dates)
- select the ‘Cancel’ button. You’ll be taken to the ‘Award Summary’ screen
- note the date in the ‘Period covered by this notice’ field.
Note: For tax credit claims received before 06-04-2012 the correct effective date will be either the earliest of the dates noted or the date 93 days prior to the date the claim was received. For tax credit claims received on or after 06-04-2012 the correct effective date will be either the earliest of the dates noted or the date 31 days prior to the date the claim was received.
