TCM1000492 - How to check if the customer is currently in receipt of the maximum award for CTC and/or WTC
Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu’
- select ‘Award’ on the toolbar
- select ‘View’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data’ screen
- enter the customer’s NINO
- select the relevant checkbox
- select ‘OK’.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Individual’ screen
- select the relevant claim
- select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Award Summary’ screen
- go to Step 2.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Award’ screen
- select the relevant award
- select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Award Summary’ screen
- go to Step 2.
If you are taken straight to the ‘Award Summary’ screen, go to Step 2.
Step 2
On the ‘Award Summary’ screen, select in turn, where applicable ‘Child Tax Credit’ and/or ‘Working Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field to confirm the type of tax credits the customer is in receipt of.
If you’re able to select ‘Working Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field
- select ‘View Calculation’. You will be taken to the ‘View Calculation’ screen
- select ‘Working Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field
- select ‘View Taper Calcs’. You will be taken to the ‘View Taper Calculations’ screen
- select the latest entitlement period in the top field
- check the ‘Taper Amount’ column
- go to Step 3.
If you’re unable to select ‘Working Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field, go to Step 3.
Step 3
On the ‘Award Summary’ screen
If you’re unable to select ‘Child Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field, return to the guidance you were previously following.
If you’re able to select ‘Child Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field
- select ‘Child Tax Credit’ in the ‘Tax Credit Type’ field
- select ‘View Taper Calcs’. You will be taken to the ‘View Taper Calculations’ screen
- select the latest entitlement period in the top field
- check the ‘Taper Amount’ column
- return to the guidance you were previously following.
