VDIM11040 - Management information prints: D1688 Notification of officers assessments issued

This guidance deals with interest matters in respect of prescribed accounting periods starting on or before 31 December 2022. Interest matters with effect from 01 January 2023 are dealt with under Finance Act 2009.

Although this daily print is primarily used to check assessments it also gives details of the number of appeals indicators set and lifted, see VDIM11020. Nil reports of this print have been produced where appropriate. This print enables the VALID post input control seat to check the number of outputs received.

Action

VALID post input control seat should check that all relevant outputs have been received and sent to the taxpayer.

Examples of Risk

If outputs arising from assessments are not sent to taxpayers accurately and promptly, this could result in an incorrect charge of further interest and thus lead to unnecessary appeals.
