Political economy analysis of the women’s rights movement in Uganda

The FCDO invites proposals by 29 November 2024 for a political economy analysis of the women's rights movement in Uganda.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) invites proposals by 29 November 2024 for a political economy analysis of the women’s rights movement in Uganda. The budget is up to £80,000 and the completion date is May 2025.

This Evidence Fund initiative aims to inform policy and programming decisions to counter the global rollback on women’s rights in Uganda. The analysis will map stakeholders and identify pathways for change, with a focus on the upcoming 2026 general election.

This opportunity is open to organisations in all ODA-eligible countries.

What the fund will achieve

The fund aims to conduct a political economy analysis of the women’s rights movement in Uganda, understanding its goals, challenges, and socio-cultural and political influences.

It will identify opportunities for strategic engagement and propose strategies to counter the rollback of women’s rights. This will inform evidence-based policies and programmes to support a vibrant women’s movement in Uganda.
