Give notice of your intention to oppose a trade mark
Tell Intellectual Property Office you intend to oppose a trade mark application, sometimes known as giving ‘notice of threatened opposition’. This will give you one extra month to file your opposition.
You must apply in the 2 months after the trade mark application is first published in the online trade marks journal.
Before you start
You’ll need to know:
- the trade mark application number
- whether it’s a UK or International (UK) application
- one of the trade mark classes applied for
Your name, address and any other information you provide will be publicly available. Use a business address or PO Box if you do not want your home address to be available.
