Hazard

The CNC lathes do not have interlocked access panels/doors and bar feed opening is not guarded. This means that access to the inside of the lathe whilst the parts are moving is possible and contact with these moving parts of machinery could result in injury. The lathes were not CE marked and were not accompanied by a Declaration of Conformity.

The product does not comply with the Essential Health & Safety Requirements of The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

Corrective action

The product has been voluntarily withdrawn from the market and the responsible person instructed to contact persons supplied with revisions of information.

Users of CNC lathes supplied by Reid Works Ltd, Blade CNC Ltd and eBay user ‘chrirei6’ should check their machines to ensure that contact with moving parts of the machine is not possible and take appropriate action to ensure their machine is made safe.

eBay - seller ‘chrirei6’ is no longer an active user.

Facebook - Items are no longer advertised through posts on Blade Machinery UK’s Facebook page.
