The Foreign Office summoned the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen to express its deep concern about increasing reports of deaths and casualties in the ongoing protests.

Foreign Secretary William Hague has expressed the UK government's concern on continuing reports overnight of unacceptable violence used against protesters in Libya, Bahrain, and Yemen.
"All Yemenis have a right to express their views in a peaceful and open manner," said Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt.
Foreign Secretary William Hague visited Yemen on 9 February as part of his regional tour of the Middle East and North Africa.
