Science & Innovation Network (SIN) in Ghana maintains and develops science, innovation, and technology (ST&I) collaboration in priority areas between the UK and Ghana.

SIN Ghana’s work includes ecosystem coordination, knowledge exchange, and partnerships to advance ST&I for mutual benefits.

The UK and Ghana have jointly developed and launched the UK-Ghana ST&I Strategy, 2023 to 2027. This joint strategy outlines plans for improving collaboration in public and private sectors and how this could be achieved. The objective is to increase the number, quality, and impact of UK-Ghana ST&I partnerships.

Responsibilities and priorities

SIN Ghana’s main priority is to enable policy exchange between the UK and Ghana.

Thematic priorities are to:

  • enhance coordination in science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) to promote transparency and collaboration
  • encourage learning opportunities in science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) for mutual benefit
  • create sustainable collaborations by co-creating partnerships
  • commercialise viable science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) outputs by helping innovators to access industry sectors

Sectoral priorities are:

  • information and communications technology (ICT) and frontier technology
  • agriculture and food processing
  • health and pharmaceuticals
  • education
  • manufacturing
