Airline Insolvency Review
Work of the Airline Insolvency Review which made recommendations for how airlines should close with least disruption.
The independent Airline Insolvency Review was chaired by Peter Bucks and ran from February 2018 to March 2019. The review considered how to ensure airlines could wind down in an orderly fashion with the minimum impact on:
- passengers
- the taxpayer
The review drew on lessons from the collapse of Monarch and looked at:
- repatriation
- the refund protection necessary to ensure passengers are protected
The main reports made were the review’s interim report, July 2018, and the final report of the review released on 9 May 2019.
