We gathered responses to this consultation between 13 July and 5 October 2012. We considered all the comments received and issued revised guidance, Department for Transport circular 01/2013, ‘Setting local speed limits’, on 18 January 2013.

This consultation seeks views on the revision and reissue of guidance on setting local speed limits. Revisions take into account recent changes to the signing regime, expand the section on 20 miles per hour zones and limits, introduce the speed limit appraisal tool and make some other changes.
