We have revised the Code of Practice following extensive discussions with our stakeholders, and taking into account the response to this public consultation.

Detail of feedback received

We received 15 responses to this consultation which focused on:

  • independence
  • transparency (including publications)
  • diversity and inclusion

All respondents addressed these subjects with some focusing more on lay members representation and open meetings.

This consultation seeks views on the revised ‘Code of practice for scientific advisory committees and councils’ (CoPSAC).

The CoPSAC is a guidance document that applies to any science advisory committee or council, affiliated to one or more organisations within government, that provides independent expert advice to facilitate decision making.
