Explanation of the 4 specific elements of quality assurance testing for ultrasound equipment used in the NHS abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening programme. These are:
- acceptance testing on delivery of new equipment
- safety checks
- monthly performance tests
- annual performance checks
The AAA screening equipment evaluation report describes the evaluation exercise undertaken to select ultrasound scanners for use in the AAA screening programmes in England and Wales.
