British Wheel of Yoga Qualifications (BWYQ) In the context of an Ofqual direction dated 7 August 2018, reflecting that BWYQ had failed and was likely to fail to comply with General Conditions of Recognition A1, A4, A5, A6, A8, G1, G8, H5, H6 and I4. Undertaking accepted Closed

On 19 December 2018, Ofqual accepted an undertaking from BWYQ. The undertaking replaces a direction which we gave on 7 August 2018 and which we lifted on 20 December 2018.

The direction prevented BWYQ from registering any new learners on its regulated qualifications until it had demonstrated sufficient capacity to ensure compliance with the conditions. Lifting the direction means BWYQ is now able to register learners again. We took this action because BWYQ had made sufficient progress to address the main concerns we had when we gave the direction.

The undertaking sets out the steps BWYQ will take to secure sustainable compliance with the remainder of the areas we were concerned about.

In line with the undertaking, on 18 April 2019, BWYQ provided Ofqual with a written report to demonstrate that it has followed through on its commitments to secure compliance with the Conditions. Following a review of the actions taken by BWYQ, we have closed the undertaking.
