Cervical screening: training to use a new cytology system

This document explains the training requirements for all cervical cytology staff who will convert to using a different cytology technique.

This document is for individual staff who move between regions or laboratories where a different cervical cytology technique is used from the one in which they trained, or for whole laboratory conversion from one system to another.

System-conversion training is mandatory and this guidance is for all staff (medical and scientific) who screen and report cervical cytology for the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.
