Details

The UK government has announced a new focus on ending the preventable deaths of mothers, babies and children.

This paper reaffirms this commitment and sets out how the UK will work towards it. The paper builds on decades of leadership in supporting better health systems, sexual reproductive health and rights, nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene. It emphasizes that good health is critical to the empowerment of women and girls and encompasses more recent issues where the UK has led such as climate change and health.

This approach paper aligns with the UK Integrated Review priority to strengthen health systems. In conjunction with the health systems strengthening position paper, it reaffirms our commitment to improve health around the world through our collective development, diplomacy, technical and research efforts.
