On 26 May 2022, Natural England submitted a report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs setting out proposed changes to the approved route of the England Coast Path at Ecclesbourne Glen, Hastings Country Park in East Sussex, a section of the Eastbourne to Camber stretch.

The opportunity to comment closed at midnight on Thursday 21 July 2022. You can no longer make a representation or objection on proposals.
Objections were passed to an independent planning inspector who made a recommendation to the Secretary of State about each one.
The Secretary of State considered all representations and objections before making a decision about Natural England’s proposals.
Outcome
On 28 March 2024, the Secretary of State announced their decision to approve the variation proposals for Ecclesbourne Glen, Hastings Country Park (VR17).
