Details

Following an open-water swimming event in the River Thames on 7 October 2012 with 1,100 competitors, the Health Protection Agency, now Public Health England, was made aware of several cases of gastrointestinal illness among participants on Friday 19 October. An outbreak investigation was initiated to describe the outbreak; identify factors associated with illness and explore illness following previous events.
