Supplier Guide

The High Speed Two (HS2) supplier guide highlights what is important to HS2 Ltd and what will be required from our supply chain. The guide will evolve over time along with the project and helps to answer the following questions:

  • What is HS2?
  • What will HS2 Ltd be buying?
  • When will HS2 Ltd be buying?
  • Where can suppliers access opportunities?
  • How will HS2 Ltd engage with suppliers?
  • What do HS2 Ltd require from the HS2 supply chain?
  • What can suppliers do now?

Supply Chain Health and Safety Approach

The purpose of this document is to:

  • provide clarity to our suppliers on our expectations and requirements for the management of health, safety and wellbeing. Suppliers include current and future: contractors, sub-contractors and manufacturers;
  • set the tone and ethos for our health, safety and wellbeing culture through our Safe at heart strategic principles, focus areas, commitments and approach to safety leadership and behavioural safety; and
  • provide online access to good practice guidance to support our aim to set new standards for health, safety and wellbeing for this and future projects.

The size and nature of the many packages of work being carried out will vary. It is expected that the application of this standard shall be proportionate to the nature of the work and the risks associated with the work, products and/or services to be provided.

Sustainability Approach Document

Transforming lives, building for the future; our sustainability approach document sets out the broad parameter of how we define sustainability. It covers how sustainability will help us achieve our strategic goals and objectives, and how we embed its disciplines in our work. Our sustainability approach groups our work into the following five themes:

  • Spreading the benefits: Economic growth and community regeneration
  • Opportunities for all: Skills, employment and education
  • Safe at heart: Health, safety and wellbeing
  • Respecting our surroundings: Environmental protection and management
  • Standing the test of time: Design that is future-proof

High Speed One, the Olympics and Crossrail were big projects; HS2 is even bigger. At HS2 Ltd we want you to get involved now. Add your expertise to ours and seize the opportunities in Europe’s largest mega-project.
