Details

30 ‘village agents’ have been set up working in 145 rural parishes that have limited access to services locally. These agents help older people have easier access to a wide range of services.

Village agents are local people, employed part-time, who become a trusted community member and resource. They network extensively with, for example, parish councillors, community nurses, police community support officers, social group organisers, transport providers and religious groups in rural areas.

More information about services for older people in Gloucestershire:

  • Village agents support the over 50s in rural parts of Gloucestershire and bridge the gap between communities and organisations that are able to offer help or support
  • Community agents – Gloucestershire County Council (log in required)
