Report of the structure and testing of the National Transport Model version 5.

Details
The National Transport Model (NTM) is an internal tool used to inform transport policy and roads strategy, and produce road traffic forecasts.
This report details the structure of NTMv5 and the testing carried out prior to being given to us, including:
- calibration and realism testing using similar criteria to the Transport Analysis Guidance
- sensitivity tests illustrating how the model may respond to changes to networks and demographic data based on ‘fictional’ schemes
This model was separately audited and peer reviewed.
Version 5 (NTMv5) of this model, supplied in late 2019, has much more spatial detail than NTMv2R, which is currently used.
