This policy framework sets out duties, rules and general guidance for staff working in prisons, young offenders’ institutions and Prisoner Escort and Custody Services (PECS) on the use of the Person Escort Record (PER). This policy framework includes rules and guidance for both the paper PER and the digital PER (dPER).

This policy framework replaces PSO 1025.
