In 2014, certain banks agreed a package of measures (the 2014 Agreement) to:

• improve awareness of the undertakings signed by the banks among their relevant staff
• assist the CMA in assessing levels of compliance with the undertakings on an ongoing basis

The banks agreed to undertake a detailed annual audit of their systems and procedures for ensuring compliance with the undertakings.

In addition to this template, banks should also refer to:

• the small and medium-sized enterprise banking undertakings
• the 2014 report on compliance, available on the 2002 behavioural undertakings report page
• the Directions issued to First Trust Bank and HSBC (the Directions to HSBC have been replaced by the Directions linked below)
• the Directions issued to Barclays
• the Directions issued to HSBC in 2022 
• the Directions issued to NatWest
