Standard rule guidance and generic risk assessment for managing extractive waste generated from onshore oil and gas prospecting activities of drill, core and decommissioning without well stimulation (using oil and / or water based drilling mud).

There are 2 waste management plans to accompany the SR2014 No 2 rules.

1. 11 April 2019

   We have closed this standard rules set to new applicants and it now only applies to existing operators who held this permit before 10th April 2019.

2. 3 April 2019

   We have updated the interpretation section 4.4 of the standard rule with a revised definition for the term ‘European Site’.

3. 30 August 2018

   Added to 'details' section: You can apply online for most standard rules environmental permits.

4. 2 March 2016

   The Standard Rules SR2014 No 2 (The management of extractive waste, not including a waste facility, generated from onshore oil and gas prospecting activities of drill, core and decommissioning without well stimulation) has been updated.
