This document contains the following information: The Civil Service: taking forward continuity and change a Command Paper taking forward the proposals in The Civil Service continuity and change’ (Cm 2627) in the light of consultation and incorporating the Government’s response to the 5th report from the Treasury and Civil Service Committee, The role of the Civil Service’, House of Commons (Session 1993-94).

This Command Paper was laid before Parliament by a Government Minister by Command of Her Majesty. Command Papers are considered by the Government to be of interest to Parliament but are not required to be presented by legislation.
