Details

The publication of the UK strategy for rare diseases in 2013 recognised and responded to the needs of those affected by rare diseases and was seen as a landmark for patients. The implementation of the 51 commitments in the strategy in England is shared by DHSC and NHS England.

This implementation plan describes key achievements and future activities by DHSC and our delivery partners for the commitments for which DHSC has lead responsibility.

The DHSC implementation plan sits alongside the NHS England implementation plan.

The glossary defines commonly used terms in the field of rare diseases.
