The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and 8 Social Rented Sector (SRS) landlords worked together to look at rent account histories for 15,750 tenants in the period April 2014 to January 2019.
Claimants’ Universal Credit (UC) data were linked to their rent payment records and used to assess the pattern of rent arrears prior to and after the UC claim. The results of this are detailed in ‘Universal Credit and the patterns of rent balances in the Social Rented Sector: Rent Analysis’
