Following an internal audit, unexpected differences have been discovered between roll-on roll-off (RoRo) data supplied by a ferry operator to the DfT for 2 separate but related publications, Road goods travelling to Europe statistics and Port freight statistics.

Preliminary discussions with the ferry operator suggest some vehicles may have been omitted in the Road goods travelling to Europe data. Therefore, an investigation is taking place to determine the reasons for the differences and if a re-supply of data is required. As a result, the Road goods vehicles travelling to Europe July 2023 to June 2024 publication will be delayed.

Caution should be taken if using these figures.
