Statistics on road freight transported by Great Britain and UK registered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in the United Kingdom and internationally in 2018.

Domestic freight activity by GB-registered HGVs operating in the UK increased in 2018.

There were increases compared to 2017 of:

• 1% in the amount of goods lifted, to 1.41 billion tonnes
• 3% in the amount of goods moved, to 152 billion tonne kilometres

International road freight by UK-registered HGVs transporting freight internationally increased in 2018.

There were increases compared to 2017 of:

• 11% in the amount of goods lifted, to 8.7 million tonnes
• 4% in the amount of goods moved, to 5.6 billion tonne kilometres
