CDSSG06030 - Step-By-Step Guide, Step 1 - CDS Declaration Category and Data Set: Type of Declaration being made
Once you have selected the appropriate Type of Movement, please see section CDSSG06020, you can then identify the Declarations Categories available for the type of declaration being made.
The Navigation Guide’s step 1 will inform you of the Appendix to be used when selecting the Declaration Category for that Type of Movement. Please see sections CDSSG04120 and CDSSG06020.
- Step 1: Begin with the relevant Declaration Category data set table in Appendices 21 - 24 for the type of declaration being made.
The Appendix for that Type of Movement will list the Declaration Categories that you can choose from. To find the index list of Declaration Categories that you can choose from for each Type of Movement, select the first link in the corresponding Appendix.
Declaration Category Data Sets can be found for the specific Movement Type in:
- Appendix 21: Import Customs Declarations
- Appendix 22: Export Customs Declarations
- Appendices 23 A and B: Import Customs Clearance Requests and Import Entry in Declarants Records Notification of Presentation (EIDR NOP)
- Appendices 23 C and D: Export Customs Clearance Requests and Export EIDR NOPs
- Appendix 24: Final Supplementary Declarations for Imports
You will then need to identify from that index list which Declaration Categories fit the Type of Declaration you are making:
