CDSSG09040 - Step-By-Step Guide, Step 4 - Understanding and selecting the CDS Procedure Code (DE 1/10): Identifying the Requested Procedure
All Procedure Codes on CDS are organised into Requested Procedure Series. The Requested Procedure identifies the procedure the goods are being entered to. The Requested Procedure must be compatible with the Movement Type and Declaration Category.
Each Declaration Category restricts the Requested Procedure Series that can be used.
The Requested Procedure Series is then used to identify the subset of Procedure Codes that may be used to declare the goods.
The first link on each Appendix 1 collection page provides an index list of all Requested Procedure Series and Procedure Codes for each Movement Type.
- Import Customs Declarations and Import EIDR NOPs Procedure Code Index List
- Export Customs Declarations and Import EIDR NOPs Procedure Code Index List
- Import (Inventory) Customs Clearance Request (CCR) Procedure Code Index List
- Export (Inventory) Customs Clearance Request (CCR) Procedure Code Index List
- Final Supplementary Declaration (FSD) Procedure Code Index List
The Index page for each Movement type provides a table that specifies which Requested Procedures can be used with each Movement Type and Declaration Category. Please see section CDSSG09030 for details.
The Tables provided in the Appendix 1 Index Lists should be used to identify the appropriate Requested Procedure for the Declaration Category and the customs treatment or use to which the goods are being entered.
Under the Table in the Appendix 1 Index List page, is a list of each Requested Procedure Series, detailing what each 2-digit code stands for. The list of Requested Procedure Series should be used to identify the appropriate series for the procedure the goods are being entered to.
Once the correct Requested Procedure series has been selected, the specific 4-digit Procedure Code should be selected, using the detailed index list of all Procedure Codes available for use for that Movement Type – see section CDSSG09050 for details.
The table below details each Requested Procedure series available for use on CDS and the Declaration Categories with which they may be used.
