The service may be basic where the mailbox facility is supplied direct by the service provider or for larger organisations it may be a direct link into the messaging network of the service provider.

The choice of provider will be affected by many market factors including location, available facilities, method of connection supported and the charging tariff. Traders can purchase packages that can incorporate messaging facilities.
