CPET resources for government procurers, suppliers and businesses
CPET publications and documents for sustainable timber procurement, palm oil and woodfuel
This collection brings together resources and publications produced by the Central Point of Expertise on Timber (CPET) service, up to the service end date of 31 March 2016.
The publications and detailed guides are for government procurers, suppliers and businesses checking on requirements of:
- the UK government Timber Procurement Policy
- sustainability requirements for supplying and using woodfuel
- sourcing sustainable palm oil.
If you are a government procurer, and need to know about what products the TPP applies to, exemptions or to access the model contract text, go to the Timber Procurement Advice Note (TPAN). The TPAN (in section 4.3) also provides guidance of how to check category A or B evidence submitted to you.
If you are a supplier to government and you are FSC or PEFC certified (category A evidence) and need to know about how to demonstrate compliance with the TPP, go to the forest certification schemes: validity checklist.
If you are a supplier to government and you are not certified by an approved forest management scheme, go to the framework for evaluating category B evidence. Information can also be found in section 4.1.2 of the Timber Procurement Advice Note (TPAN) of how to submit evidence for a broken chain of custody (for example a certified forest of origin combined with non-certified evidence of chain of custody).
If you are a UK woodland owner or manager, go to the CPET Growers Guide for guidance and advice on UK timber procurement policy, the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR), and supplying woodfuel to the renewable energy and heat markets.
