The CMA’s action to help tackle cost of living pressures

How the CMA is helping tackle cost of living pressures in the UK.

The cost of living continues to put huge pressure on people’s daily lives, across the UK. Goods and services we buy, including essential purchases and bills such as groceries and heating, are more expensive than they used to be.

The CMA’s role in tackling the cost of living

The CMA promotes competitive markets and tackles unfair practices.

Many of the factors increasing prices are global in nature and unrelated to levels of competition. But it’s our job to make sure competition is working to contain price rises in markets for the essential goods that people depend on.

Read our short visual story to find out what the CMA has done so far to help you get a fair deal.
